What day is it?

I had to take Roxi in to see the doctor today to make sure her ears were ok for travel. They are, but since she’s been coughing for four weeks, we started her on antibiotics anyway since we’re flying on Thursday. She’s on the tail end of this whatever she had, but I just didn’t want to take any chances on those ears.

Anyway, as I was sitting in the waiting room getting ready to write something in my calendar, my mind went totally blank. What day is it–Monday? And for that matter, what the heck is the date–February 12?! Already? I cannot tell you how long it has been that I haven’t had to keep track of every single day in my calendar. Since January, we’ve just been operating day to day, tracking time by the things left in our house and that darned work permit, which arrived as promised by the way, before noon on Saturday.

Mr. DJ is on a plane to LA for our entrance visas (fingers crossed!). Roxi got glasses and a digital camera today. I’ll try to post a pic of her in her new four-eyed state. She’s going to school tomorrow to have one last lunch with her friends. I think I feel worse about leaving them than she does! Boo hoo!

We had a nice dinner at Mr. and Mrs. Axman’s lovely new house last night. This is the last family get together for a while–at least until July. The hardest part about leaving is saying goodbye.
