Walk This Way

We’ve done a lot of wandering around the last couple of days. The weather has been so nice (well, except for the 30+ mph winds) that we just had to get out and do something.
Thursday, Roxi and I walked to Covent Gardens Market. It was ok—we didn’t really buy anything, except for lunch. It was a nice walk though.
Today, Roxi, Chris and I walked over to the shops on Charing Cross Road to look for some fun, used books stores. Roxi and I NEED something else to read other than the London guidebooks. If we don’t have a regular dose of art, books, and music, we get cranky!
We found a few little stores (and peeked into China Town—will need to stop in there again sometime). We went to Pizza Hut for lunch, and I must say I was surprised how good it was! Roxi had the blues last night, and one of the things she said she missed was plain ol’, un-fancy pizza. So lucky for her, her cousin knew exactly where Pizza Hut was. It was good. Really.
After lunch, we walked over to Tin Pan Alley (Denmark Street) where there are lots of great little music shops. We found one that I know Mr. DJ will love: Turnkey, an electronic music store at 114-116 Charing Cross Road, WC2H OJR .
We also went to Cass Art. Tiny little shop, lots of great art supplies. The one we went to was at 13 Charing Cross Road, WC2H OEP. Lots of things on sale right now!
Roxi is working on proportional drawing for math. She’s taking a Far Side cartoon and enlarging it by 300%. This will take a while…
