Brighton

Brighton Pier, or Palace Pier, was built in 1881. In it, you can find an arcade, restaurants, bars, and a funfair. We did not go here. Parking is really hard to find in Brighton. Next time we go, we will take the train.
All I wanted to do was to see the shore–it’s a rocky beach, unlike the sand beaches in Texas. We nearly gave up looking for parking. However, when we drove several miles to away from the tourist area, we found many spaces along these bowling greens.
Beach huts or bathing boxes, these are basically little sheds. I wonder how you can get one of these. Can you rent them for the season? Can you buy one? Do you inherit them?
This is the beach at Brighton. We found some really nice rocks that were broken open a little, revealing crystals inside–like mini geodes. We also found some really tiny, but well tumbled, green beach glass. Brighton Beach is designated a nudist beach, by the way, something I only just found out.
A boy and his dog at play. The dog was very insistent on being thrown his stick (BARK!). He wanted his boy to throw it NOW (BARK! BARK!).
When we go back by train, I would like to go see the Royal Pavilion and just walk around to admire the architecture. I don’t know what this building is.
On our way home, we saw a few fields of (I think) rapeweed–stunningly yellow against all the green. Apparently, rapeweed is used to make canola oil. “Rape” in this instance comes from the old English/Latin word rapum for turnip. .
