Aunt J does Windsor and Eaton

Thursday, Aunt J and I toured Windsor Castle, visited the Christmas Market in Eaton and had lunch in a pub.

Wow–this was my first trip to Windsor Castle, too, and I was really blown away. I think this better be a “must do” if you ever visit England.

I loved the crown on top of the lamp.

This is the guest entrance to the castle.

The private apartments.

And the general cuteness of the town of Windsor.
Look at all of those swans and seagulls. That’s the Thames River between the towns of Windsor and Eaton.
A cute little courtyard in Eaton.

Aunt J liked the cobblestone streets.

The town of Eaton is hosting a Christmas market this weekend. We got to see a preview of some of the goodies for sale.

We had lunch at a pub in Eaton. This was Aunt J’s order of fish and chips. It was soooooo good.

Later we went to a coffee shop for tea. Well, I had tea. Aunt J had this hot chocolate. She said it was good. I bought another one to take to Roxi after school.
.
Today we just kind of bummed around. I had to bake brownies for an event at Roxi’s school. But we did do a little last minute looking around the neighborhood and some of the local shops. It was fun. Dinner was at a pub nearby. More fish and chips :-)
.
It was a really nice visit with Aunt J. We hope she had a good time with us on this side of the pond.

Yes, Windsor is adorable and the swans are magnificent but, oh my God, check out that hot chocolate!

Hi Laurie–Yes, and it was as good as it looked! Sometimes (uh a lot of times) it’s all about the food ;-)
