Planning another trip

Oh man, TexasGal‘s got this post up today about Texas Pride. I think I may have to defrost one of my single-size “emergency chili” containers for lunch.
Let’s see, what else is going on? We’re finalizing our plans for our Spring Break trip to Germany/Austria. We’ll actually be based in Munich and do day trips from there. For those who have been, do you have suggestions of things to see? We’ve got our own list, but I’d be interested to know what you liked. Besides the beer and pretzels, that is.
I guess I’d better finish my Prague posts before we leave. How is it that our trip to Prague was more than four months ago?
.
This is the coolest house of mirrors I have ever seen. Prague, Czech Republic, October 2007.

Enjoy your trip. I guess being there has it’s benefits kinda like being here. It’s close enough that you can take quick trips without it taking forever to get there. Like for us we can make weekend trips to Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia really easy and cheap. Whereas back home, if you were driving it took FOREVER to just get outta Texas.
texasgal–Don’t I know it! We liked to go out to the Four Corners area (New Mexico and Colorado, usually) once a year or so. We’d drive because we had the time and it was just part of the thing. But, man, it sure did take forever to get past El Paso.
Beautiful picture!
Laurie–Thanks!
Sounds like so much fun! Unfortuneately, I didn’t get out to Germany and Austria when I lived out there.
Cool picture! Where is that house of mirrors? I would love to go to Prague, it sounds like lots of fun.
Susan–It’s at the top of Petrin Hill. Prague was beautiful!
Alyson–We’re trying our best to see as much as we can while we’re here… But there’s still so much that we haven’t seen yet–especially in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland.
I hope you get to see the Glockenspiel and climb up the stairs at the big church…is it St. Peter’s or is that the street name? I cannot remember. But the platz is quite wonderful. And there were two fellows with alpenhorns, but they weren’t playing them when we were there. One of the things I like about Germany is that there is a whole unseen-from-the-street world that opens up in the platzes. And it is very pretty! But they bring the dogs in the restaurants and leave the babies outside! very odd. And watch your step near corners and posts! Mimsy
Mimsy–Thanks for the tips! I know about the dogs (they do that in France too) but didn’t know about the babies! Roxi is playing in the school band this year and because of her piano skills, she was assigned to the glockenspiel and xylophone. So I know she’ll want to see that for sure.
I think it’s the Marianplatz…Mimsy
