¡Congratulacion España! and other things

Spain won the Euro 2008 Championship. Here are some loyal fans in Nuremberg, Germany. There were some really hardcore ones in Salzburg! Oh, I know, I’ve been so slow in posting my Germany photos. Now that Roxi is out for the summer it is hard to find three or four hours to sit down and [...]

A day of Japanese things

Yesterday my friend S treated us to a delicious bento lunch at Mitsukoshi Restaurant near Piccadilly Circus in London. My bento included salmon and tuna sashimi, vegetable and shrimp tempura, miso soup, vegetables, rice, and fruit. Roxi had the tonkatsu bento. We enjoyed this food so much. S says the food is authentic at this [...]

We love summer

A very chic mom and her boy in Munich, Germany. Look at how pulled together that woman is! She’s wearing HEELS… on a bike! If I tried this, I’d have lost one shoe or sprained an ankle trying to dismount. Plus my hair would be a mess. This is not a staged photo–this is the [...]

Traveling with children

It was like sleeping in Grandma’s attic or maybe a bit like camping (the mattresses were comfortable enough but unfortunately they were built in–no pushing the beds together). We were trying something new: staying out of the big, American-style hotels. This was our “Triple” room in a small hotel in downtown Munich–our first “Triple”. In [...]

Hamburgers

The last two evenings I’ve smelled grilling burgers. Somewhere nearby, some brave pit boss has thumbed his nose at the rain gods and fired up the grill. Me? I’m still traumatized by my rained out barbeques last “summer”. So instead, I’ll sit here, smell the burger smoke and eat a girly salad tonight. Just as [...]

We’re back!

We got in late Saturday night. For some reason, on the flight back, I thought I kept hearing oom-pah music. It was probably just the engines… We had a great time! There was only one thing wrong with the trip: we happened to be travelling during Euro 2008, which is basically a month long soccer/football [...]

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye

We’re going to Germany tomorrow. Gotta pick up Roxi from her sleepover, finish up some design work, and then pack and stuff like that. See you on June 23rd!

Feed me!

Though it looks like this fellow has engaged the attention of those frisky otters, he is actually feeding the ducks (not pictured, too bad because there were some darling little ducklings!). The otters are part of Surrey Sculpture Society’s 2008 Exhibit at Savill Garden in Windsor Great Park, England. .I am off to take Roxi [...]

This weather is SO distracting

Penguins on parade through the Savill Gardens as part of the Surrey Sculpture Society’s 2008 Exhibit. All this sun! It makes us want to go out and romp in the meadows with the dog or dance barefoot in the soft, soft grass. Having my driver’s license means we can go to all our old favorite [...]
