Spain won the Euro 2008 Championship. Here are some loyal fans in Nuremberg, Germany. There were some really hardcore ones in Salzburg!
Oh, I know, I’ve been so slow in posting my
Germany photos. Now that Roxi is out for the summer it is hard to find three or four hours to sit down and process photos. Plus now I’ve got another pro bono design project going. Anyway, I am going to work on the photos this week because Mr. DJ has planned another fabulous get away for us over my birthday week (Harry Potter and I share the same birth date). We’re going to Brussels, Burges, Holland and
Paris! So I need to stop procrastinating and get this last batch of photos up on the blog.
Hey, if you’re in Wimbledon for the tennis matches and are looking for something to eat, I can recommend
Mai Thai Restaurant. It’s not far from the train station, about a short five minute walk. Lunch specials are about £5 for a lunch-size entree and less than £7 for appetizer plus entree. It’s a really small place, but we didn’t have any trouble getting seated at lunch. They also do take away, if you prefer. I had the Chicken Phad Thai (yum!) and Roxi had sauteed chicken in a light sweet and sour sauce.

And finally, here’s what we did this weekend:
A walk in Winsor Great Park.

Or rather, a RUN (with tennis ball).

Roxi enjoyed reading in a patch of sun.

While Trudy did a little wading in a nearby pond.

Finally, I made a huge platter of sushi rolls for dinner one night. On the left are”California rolls” and on the right are “Philadelphia Rolls”. Nothing raw–I’m too nervous to try that at home. But these were pretty good! Not bad for the first try in many, many years.

Trudy, Thai food and Sushi! Three of my favorite things. :)
Laurie–Mine too!
that’s a professional looking tray of sushi, you’re a good cook!
What a great life you’re having, I don’t think Texas will be the same when you get back, you’ll be forever changed.
Christine–Thank you, but you’ll notice that I took that photo from rather far away ;-) And yes, I do believe I have changed. In many ways, my life here is so different (better) from the one I left behind in Texas. Sometimes I wonder what it will be like to repatriate.
Wow! That platter is unbelieveable.
I sure hope, one day, I can take advantage of all the great recommendations you’ve given for restaurants out there. I haven’t been to England in ages. I miss it!
Alyson–If you’re ever on this side of the pond, let me know!
I, like everyone else here, am in awe of your sushi platter!
BTW, I am off to Wimbledon tomorrow! It’s my “first time.”
Bee–Have fun! Are you dressing up or do you get to go comfy?
