This weather is SO distracting

Penguins on parade through the Savill Gardens as part of the Surrey Sculpture Society’s 2008 Exhibit. All this sun! It makes us want to go out and romp in the meadows with the dog or dance barefoot in the soft, soft grass. Having my driver’s license means we can go to all our old favorite places. Yesterday Roxi and I went to Waitrose for the first time in months. We also took Trudy for a short outing to a nearby green, and I think I might have felt a bead of perspiration on my nose. Oh, and maybe I got a little tan on my arms.

I love the picture of the penguins! Very disorienting. I want some for my flower beds on my patio!!
Laurie–Last year, there were two (I think) very realistic alligator head sculptures in this little pond. They were awesome!
Enjoy the weather! Sounds lovely! We are just getting over a heat wave and I think I’m ready to go outdoors again.
I love the way you framed that shot.
Glad you’re getting some sun!
:)
(I’d gladly send you some of mine)
The penguins are too cute! I’ve been wanting some dinosaur tracks in my front yard.
Be careful not to overdo the sun. You know about mad dogs and Englishmen… Mimsy
Alyson–We had a little rain this morning, but the blue sky is peeking through the clouds. I think this is the most sun I’ve seen in the 16 months we’ve been here!
Brave Sir Robin–I haven’t been out of Texas so long that I’d take you up on that offer ;-)
Mimsy, dear–I bet you could charm DPT into making you some fine tracks. I had to look up the Mad Dog and Englishman reference. The thing we have to watch out for is guys taking off their shirts as soon as we hit 70 degrees. There was a older fellow near the Thames last month who striped right down to his unmentionables! His fully clothed wife was perched on the bench beside him. Anything for a little sun, I suppose.
I’ve often thought that the phrase should be the other way around: dogs and mad Englishmen! Mimsy
