We love summer

A very chic mom and her boy in Munich, Germany.
Look at how pulled together that woman is! She’s wearing HEELS… on a bike! If I tried this, I’d have lost one shoe or sprained an ankle trying to dismount. Plus my hair would be a mess. This is not a staged photo–this is the real deal, folks. More bikes later. You didn’t think I’d be able to resist, did you?
.
Roxi’s friend Y slept over at our house last night. Now we are off to London for lunch and shopping with Y’s mom–aka my friend S!

“…off to London for lunch….” I bet you never thought you would say that phrase so casually. :)
That photo makes it look all so quaint. It also supports the American notion that we are just a bunch of slobs, while Europeans are super sophicated. Unfortuneately, that’s true a lot of the time!
I was fascinated by the many elegant Dutch ladies I witnessed bike-riding. (No lycra pants! No athletic shoes!)
“X” and “S” makes your companions sound so mysterious.
I will be lunching in London tomorrow as well. I am meeting “C” — former work colleague from Houston — at the Krispy Kreme in Harrod’s.
Laurie–Haha, actually you’re right.
Alyson–I am feeling rather slobby at the moment!
Bee–My friend treated us to a lovely bento box lunch at the Mitsukoshi restaurant :-)
I feel unstable just looking at that photo. :)
Any chance I can talk you into posting a recipe for a side dish, salad or desert next wed., july 2. Just to get us in the mood for july 4 picnics.
Maybe something English…or German since you were just there? Not necessary, just a thought.
Let me know, and I’ll link to you.
Barrie :)
Barrie–I’d love to join in! Now let me think…
