Blah, blah, bleh

A heart shaped puddle I found last month. It’s raining again here.

Do you ever have those days when your brain just won’t be quiet? Yesterday was one of those days for me.
Recently, I started a family Yahoo Group for my Dad’s side of the family. As moderator, I feel it is my responsibility to get the conversation going by sending out an email every day. The plus side is, I have all sorts of fabulous emails coming into my inbox all day. I love email! The down side is, I have to listen to myself answer. Sometimes I get tired of hearing my own voice.
Luckily, yesterday my house was also filled with beautiful music. Roxi’s friend Y stayed over and they sang for, gosh, nearly six hours straight (the rest of the time they squealed and laughed themselves silly). Their voices are so lovely together. Y’s is a soprano while Roxi’s voice spans the contralto and mezzo ranges. Their harmonies are amazing. They’ve sung together casually at school and did do one duet (“For Good” from Wicked) for a school performance. But to hear them really sing in a big, serious way–wow. Their recorded voices sound so mature, I am not sure I would have recognized them had I not known they did the singing.
Poor Trudy. The girls sang so loudly that it upset her and she crawled under the bed.
I’m off to make some cinnamon butter. I think the blueberry muffins I made this morning are too tart and need a little help.

That sounds like a mah-va-lous rainy day.

You totally captured the weather today. I love the heart! I know I should be packing….

  3. Christine says:

that heart shaped puddle looks like something you could enter into a photo competition…it’s ‘deep’

  4. Just a Plane Ride Away says:

Laurie–Nothing better than the sound of happy girls. Just you wait.

Sarah–Thank you! At least it’s raining and not sunshine outside. I find it hard to concentrate when the weather is nice here.

    Christine–Thank you :-) Tee hee!

  5. Christine says:

thanks for the ‘before and after’ tip…hadn’t got around to thinking of taking ‘before’ pics!

    I love email too btw.

  6. Just a Plane Ride Away says:

Christine–You must, you simply must “before and after” :-)

  7. Alyson says:

Very cool shot! How fabulous that you found something that your daughter will do for 6 hours. That’s so rare! Must have been lovely to be serenaded by your daughter and her friend. But poor Trudy. :-)

  8. Bee says:

I always think that people with the singing gift are incredibly fortunate. What a great rainy day activity!

I just had a marathon ironing session and watched three Audrey Hepburn movies with “Roxi’s little buddy.”

  9. Barrie says:

    I actually miss the rain.

  10. Just a Plane Ride Away says:

Alyson–It really was amazing to hear so much talent come out of these little girls. Well, not so little, but you know what I mean. I truly am in awe.

Bee–Oh, my gosh, that really does sound like a lot of ironing. But the movies part sounds fun. Which movies did you watch? Roxi and I were just talking about “My Fair Lady” yesterday. We watched that last year soon after we moved to the Shire. BTW, Roxi is having a grand time emailing your youngest. I hope we can get them together again soon :-)

Barrie–People look at me like I am crazy when I say this, but I LOVE the weather here. And yes, I miss the rain when we get too much sun. If it could rain three days and then dry up for the weekends, that would be perfect–haha!
