Thoughts becoming things*

Sweet flowers in a meadow not far from my home. England.

This post is inspired by my blogging pal Alyson of New England Living. She and I had a short exchange in my comments section yesterday about voicing our dreams and “putting things out there” for the Universe to help with. It reminded me of a lovely email service I subscribe to–

Have you heard of Notes from the Universe?

From the website:

These Notes are brief passages written by “The Universe,” personalized with your name (and occasionally your personal goals and dreams), designed to remind you that you have, indeed, been given dominion over all things.

Notes from the Universe are unconventional, humorous, deeply insightful, and wildly popular! They’re also free and a brand new one is sent out 5 days a week!

I’ve been a subscriber for about two years. Sometimes the emails inspire me to get up off my rear and do something. Sometimes they just serve as a reminder that life is good :-) Best of all, every now and again, I get a encouraging note “From the Universe” reminding me of my dreams. It helps keep those thoughts in the front of my mind instead of in some forgotten corner.

Have a wonderful, summery weekend!

*Thanks, Mike Dooley, for such a great service!

I am signing up for that immediately. It’s especially wonderful with things like that are so accurate to your personal life that they give you goosebumps.

What an interesting idea! I’m going to check it out, too.

It’s very important to try and rise above the mundane (routine; habit; housework) . . . because it is like quicksand, and so easily sucks us under.

I like this idea! I think I will subscribe too.

It’s true about thoughts becoming things because everything that has ever passed or ever will pass started as a thought.

Laurie–I hope you like them :-)

Bee–No kidding! Often it’s better to look at the bigger picture especially when performing mundane tasks.

Alyson–Plus it’s just nice to have something positive in the inbox every day.

I just joined Notes from the Universe, thanks for the idea. Can’t wait to see what I get, I love philosophical stuff.
