We’re Back, One’s Gone Again

We got home at 8:30 last night, and Mr. DJ left the house at 10:30 this morning. He’s headed to Texas for a week for work and to visit with his family. Hope tropical storm Edouard peters out before Mr. DJ touches down later this evening. Anyone in Texas–how’s it looking?
Oh, you’re wondering about our trip? It was FABULOUS! More later this week because I need to do a few things around here first like a little laundry and a bit of grocery shopping. Oh and I need to pick up Trudy from her doggy hotel.
Hasta mañana.

Glad you had fun!
Go get Trudy!
Edourd – I’m watching the weather as I type this and, I hate to tell you this, but it’s predicted to go into Galveston sometime after midnight into Tuesday morning.
Sorry, Mr. D. J.
Yay! You’re back! That’s good news. Glad you had fun.
I can’t wait to hear all about it!
How does poor Mr. DJ cope with all of that flying? It takes me days to stabilize after a transatlantic flight.
Having done all of my laundry yesterday, I’ve having so much fun catching up with my blogging friends today.
I can’t wait to hear about your trip!
Laurie–*Groan* Hope it weakens and amounts to nothing…
Emm–I just popped over to your new blog! It looks fabulous!! I am going to revisit after I get all my chores done. Glad to see you’ve posted about your trip to Turkey.
Alyson–I’ve dumped all my photos. Too many as usual ;-)
Bee–Yay! You’re back too. I need to stop by your blog and read about your trip to the US. Mr. DJ is getting mighty tired of living out of a suitcase.
Crown Weather seems to be the best one-stop-shopping site for tropical weather updates:

If he’s getting in this evening (as in before midnight CDT), it looks like he should beat even the outer edge of the storm by at least a couple hours. Getting to wherever he’s supposed to be tomorrow morning might be a bit tricky, though.
Jack–Thanks for the link. Sometimes I miss the Weather Channel. I sure wish I had seen the weather forcast BEFORE Mr. DJ boarded that plane!
JAPRA, welcome back! I’m glad you had a good time. I hate that feeling coming home from vacation. It’s almost like you need a vacation from that. Aren’t you good to tend to your blog before your laundry and groceries. Feed the mind first!
And speaking of feeding: Henry just noticed a typo in his recipe for the noodle sauce which I corrected – it’s a half cup on the ingredients.
Aha! I thought that sounded like a lot of sauce, but I thought maybe you just put the extra in the fridge for the next day. I’m going a Japanese grocery tomorrow as I am almost out of rice and nori as well down to my last thimbleful of soy sauce.
And speaking of laundry, are you enjoying your American washer and dryer? I have piles of laundry that never seem to go away.
Well! I’m back in Texas now too! :)
I am about to turn the weather channel on. Just to be on the safe side we filled up the gas tank, bought water, bought flashlights and propane for the grill. We are ready for either no electricity or a cook-out!
welcome back to your blog! Hope your birthday was marvelous, too. We are being watchful here in the ‘hood, and we have all the supplies for food. The yard is picked up in case of high winds, but truly we don’t expect more than a very windy, rainy day. My hubby plans to go into work downtown in the morning, early to beat the rain, and then come home after…hmmm. We’ll see how good an idea that is! I’m staying home and battening down with a good book! xoxmimsy
Texas Gal–I can’t believe you’re back in Texas!! Glad you’re online again. Hope you’ll keep blogging :-)
Mimsy–I like your idea of snuggling down with a good book. What are you reading?
