Time Out Country Walk 14: Gomshall to Guildford

Two Sundays ago, Mr. DJ wanted to go for a walk. When Mr. DJ says go for a walk, he means a long country walk that lasts at least four hours. Unfortunately, Roxi had not started her homework, so she and I had to stay home. However, Trudy was happy to volunteer to go and Mr. DJ promised photos, even going so far as to hauling my heavy camera along with him (his little one was out of power).
They took the Time Out Country Walk #14 from Gomshall to Guildford. And boy am I sorry we didn’t go. Mr. DJ said it was varied terrain, very pretty, AND the weather was beautiful. Sigh.
Below are the photos from Mr. DJ. You can see he and Trudy had a wonderful walk. The horses were very friendly, especially the brown and white one, who snuggled in under Mr. DJ’s arm and was sad when he and Trudy left the field.
Other long walks we’ve done: Runnymede/Magna Carta Walk, Time Out Walk #49: Box Hill to Leatherhead, and Time Out Walk #18: Sunningdale to Windsor.
It was gorgeous weather again this weekend, but I was sick, so no outing for us. Wait, we did go to the computer store to buy a new machine for the music studio. Hurray! Isn’t it amazing how far computers progress in such a short time? My fancy laptop is almost four years old and the new desktop, which isn’t even top of the line, is light years ahead. I may just take my files and migrate to the new machine.

Mr DJ took great photos. These walks are like something out of a storybook, so picturesque, peaceful and perfect. I wish the whole world could be like this.
Great camera work, Mr. DJ. Lovely walk. Hello, Trudy!
Christine–It really looks like that here. So lovely.
Laurie–Trudy says arf!!!
Great about the weather! Thanks for taking me on your virtual walk – I miss the English countryside. I’ve just added myself as a blog “follower” to your blog even though I’m not sure exactly the difference between that and a blog roll. It looks rather face book. I feel like I’m back in high school. I have a following of 2 and have no idea where I’m leading.
If we had a walk such as this available us, Edward and I would never be at home! Simply lovely! Thanks so much for sharing!
Good work, as usual for Mr. DJ. So sorry that you had an under-the-weather spell. Hope you are feeling better! xoxMimsy
Sarah–When I saw these photos I was filled with SO much envy! My gosh, England is so beautiful, isn’t it? I am going to add myself as a follower of my fave blogs as well.
Pamela–Please tell Edward that Trudy was so tired after this walk (and her first train ride!) that she came home and went straight to bed. She barely moved for 24 hours!
Mimsy–I am feeling loads better, thank you!
These are truly great photos. The countryside is wonderful. Very quaint indeed. I used to lived in Scotland for a couple of years and my sister has lived in St Albans just outside of London for 8 years now – they are due to come back to Australia next year. Enjoy the different lifestyle. There are so many, many opportunites to travel while you are there. Thanks for dropping by my blog and I look forward to your Art blog also
Have you seen the BBC show Coast? They’ve got a podcast of walks along the coasts all the way around the UK.
Lilly’s Life–Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Yes, we are definitely enjoying our time here. It’s going by so quickly.
Pigtown-Design–GREAT tip! Thanks for mentioning it. I know my husband will be very interested in those costal walks.
