Trying to get back on schedule

Well, we’re in our first full week of school. I’m trying to organize things around here so I can set some time aside in the AM to blog. I have many travel posts to put up and have procrastinated as usual! I seem to be having a hard time adjusting to all this free time after our whirlwind summer schedule. Well, plus I’m working on a couple of projects with deadlines, so that’s eating into my regular writing/photo processing time.
Roxi had a fun-ish bonding day last Thursday. Yes, she had to wear the disgusting wet suit. At least her team won all four of the dragon boat races! She got to sit up front but had to row–no drummer on this crew. School photos were on Friday–so soon, I know! Three days into the school year and I feel like it’s zipping by. Before we know it, it’ll be Christmas break and time to visit family in Texas.
Still thinking of all our friends along the Gulf Coast. Hope you’re all okay.

Was she in a real dragon boat?
How do they row without a drummer, does someone shout out the time?
Any pictures of the boats?
Sounds like Gustave won’t be as bad as it could have been… at least I hope not.
Happy getting back in schedule.
Susan–Yes, they were real dragon boats. The kids kept time by counting to 10. There were 16 kids in each boat plus one steerer (from the boating company). No photos that I know of, but maybe one of the teachers took some (I hope).
Our first school day is this Thursday. I slightly fear the relentlessness of it all.
Darn hurricanes! Like you, I’ve been feeling anxious about Gustav.
So far, so good here. The rain and wind are on the way though. Predictions aren’t too bad for us though.
Bee–Wow, school starts on a THURSDAY? That’s so nice. Roxi says waking up early is “refreshing” ;-)
Laurie–I’m glad it’s not bad for y’all. But what about Louisiana?
Hi == we ‘re great here in Houston. No rain, clouds only.
JOni
Joni–I’m so glad! Thanks for letting me know :-)
The kids started school this morning and Adam starts preschool next week, which I will help teach. So, I’m going to be having a hard time getting on schedule too. I was way too used to the laziness of summer.
You write very well.
Therese–Thanks :-)
