Paris, France

Well, after looking over my photos from our two-and-a-half day trip to Paris last August, I realized that to overindulge in so much goodness in one sitting would be such a waste. So let us savor Paris the way it should be, leisurely, on European time. Think of this post as an amuse-bouche.
This was the final stop on my birthday trip to Brussels, Bruges, The Hague, and Paris. It was not our first time to this grand city, but it was our first visit as a family.
We loved walking everywhere, especially by the Seine.
One of our traditions (like we do this all the time!) is hanging out at the Tuileries Gardens near the Louvre.
La Sainte-Chapelle was as beautiful as ever.
Of course, we also had to stop by Notre Dame de Paris.
We skipped the Louvre (Roxi’s the only one who hasn’t been) in favor of our favourite museum, the Musee d’Orsay.
But I also wanted to go to somewhere new for all of us, so we headed to Centre Georges Pompidou for some modern art.
And, of course, mmmm…

enjoy your holiday, we’ll miss you!
I loved Paris when we went there last March. We stayed in an apartment near the L’Arc de Triomphe and pretended to be locals.
Looking forward to new pictures.
Have a wonderful time on your trip! I’ll miss your posts in the meantime.
The photos are lovely and are making me that much more excited!
Magnifique!
have fun!
Your posts keep making me hungry and is stirring up my wanderlust.
Those stained glass windows were AMAZING!!
JAPRA, these photos of Paris and the rest of your travels are gorgeous and yummy. I think you should write a cook/travel book and use your photos. I took my daughter to Sainte-Chapelle 4 years ago, and she still remembers it as being inside a jewel box. I’m not religious, but I found the space so spiritually uplifting. It’s the most beautiful church I’ve ever seen. The only down side is the long line which I later learned you can cut by seeing the historical museum/prison next door. Thanks for bringing it back.
Fairyland, fairyland.
Christine–Thank you! It should be interesting. Vive la France!
Lucylucia–I know you are going to have such a wonderful time when you go! I can’t wait to read about your trip :-)
Rebecca–Tres!
Susan–Sorry about that ;-)
Alyson–It is stunning in person.
Sarah–Thank you! I was actually thinking of something along those same lines. I’d love to talk with you about it some time, if you’re willing. And Sainte-Chapelle is one of our very favourite churches. You are right, it is like a jewel box or a kaleidoscope. The line was a bit long (well maybe 20 people ahead of us). Apparently the thing to do is get a museum pass. Then all you have to do is flash the pass at the participating sites. Some museums even have separate lines for pass holders, which makes entry even faster.
Pamela–Yes it is.
Have fun!!!
Lovely to see Paris through your eyes.
I look forward to pictures of Poland.
I visited Wroclaw some years ago and found it enchanting.
I love your sense of humour — but of course these pictures were a virtual feast (hardly an amuse-bouche!)
Hope you have a wonderful time in Poland. You missed nothing but lots of rain today.
Looking forward to more of your wonderful photos when you get back! Bon voyage!
Laurie–Thanks! We did :-)
Elizabeth–I’ll try to get the Poland pics up next week.
Bee–The rain found us in Krakow on the last day. But the first three days were stunning!
Barrie–Thank you, it was wonderful.
Fantastic photos.
The Grandpa–Thank you, but Paris is a wonderful model :-)
If I say I can’t stand it, would you know I’m admiring of you? I can’t stand it!!
