Seven Things About Me

Before we left for
- I am a little shy.
- I also tend to be a little stuck in my ways, so I try to take on things that I find challenging or difficult just to get out of my routine.
- I am an only child. This is probably why I can spend lots and lots of time by myself (though sometimes I get sick of hearing myself think).
- I rarely eat fast food now. It makes me feel bad.
- I cannot drink more than ½ a glass of wine or beer in one sitting (or just a few sips of the hard stuff). It makes me sleepy! On the other hand, I make a great designated driver.
- I hate cleaning or organizing but spend a lot of time thinking about it.
- I wish I were braver.
As usual, I’m breaking the chain and will not tag anyone in particular. However if you feel the urge to share, I’d love to learn more about you! You can leave your answers in the comments or post them on your own blog (please leave me a link!).

How lovely to learn a little more about you! I wouldn’t have known you were shy – I think your blog, your photography and your art makes you seem a little more accessible online and so I didn’t guess.
I like being alone. I like eating in restaurants alone – my brother was saying the other day that he can’t do that. He likes to interact with people while I like ot get lost in a crowd.
Emm–That is nice of you to say! And well, I wish I were braver and less self-concious about sharing (especially my art), but there you go. I do admire people who can let it all hang out!
I think it’s important to feel safe in the boundaries you set up. There is a fine line between being brave and reckless, isn’t there? I keep this in mind when interacting with people online and do sometimes wonder if I haven’t released something a bit too personal.
I think you’re braver than you realize. I’m the oldest of four children and also love to spend time alone. So, I guess that one goes both ways.
It was nice to hear a little more about you in “real life”. I especially relate to your last too, by the way!
Emm–You are right!
Laurie–I guess everyone likes a bit of personal time now and again.
Alyson–I am glad to share such “fine” qualities with you–hahaha!
Ah, another only child! Like me!
And, I’m with you on fast food as well!
Pamela–My daughter is an only child as well!
I’m the eldest of five, and I like being alone. Also glad you didn’t tag me!
I’m sure you are quite brave.
Living in a foreign country is not for the faint hearted!
Did you get to Wroclaw in Poland?
It’s always fun to read “tagged” posts. I’m very shy in groups, but comfortable with strangers one-on-one (I’m sure that’s the counseling training). Maybe there’s something about blogging that speaks to the introvert, because I enjoy spending lots of time on my own, like yourself and many of my fellow commenters!
Christine–Tag! Tag! Tag! Just kidding ;-) But wow–five kids! I guess you were never lonely.
Elizabeth–I am brave when it comes to certain things but very much of a ‘fraidy cat when it comes to other things. We just went to Krakow and Auschwitz. I Googled Wroclaw and it does look charming. How did you decide to visit there?
Lucylucia–Yes, isn’t that interesting to read that over and over? I wonder if that is a common trait among bloggers?
Well, yes, you can be lonely as the oldest of five kids, but you rarely have any privacy…I, too, am the oldest of five kids! Anyway, your shyness seems to manifest itself as thoughtfulness, a lovely quality in friends and artists. xoxMimsy
Mimsy–You’re sweet (and a very thoughtful friend too). XO
