All dolled up and ready to cook

I’ve spent the morning tidying up. Things really went downhill during my under-the-weather-ness. But all is well now. Twenty pounds of dog hair swept up, kitchen buffed and polished–I even dusted!

So, ahhh. Now I can think clearly again.
And maybe I’ll do a little cooking. I haven’t been in the mood for it lately, but Emm left me a link for Bobotie, a South African dish. It looks yummy.
I am going to make fettuccine Alfredo for Roxi and a friend tonight before their band concert. That reminds me, I need to go to the grocery store!

I love going to the grocery store. I usually save it up for the weekends so I can stroll up and down the market aisles and be content. I just bought “Giada’s Kitchen” and there’s a recipe for Swiss Chard and Sweet Pea Mancotti that’s calling my name – time to invite some folks over for dinner!

Emm–Well, I will let you know how it goes :-)

Chris–Doesn’t it? It sounds so yummy. I can’t wait to try it!

Lucylucia–That mancotti sounds delicious! Please post it if you make it :-) I love going to the grocery off hours. I’m so lucky that I can!

Good to hear you’re feeling better. Strange isn’t it but whenever I’m recovered from something the first thing I want to do is clean the whole house!

  6. Just a Plane Ride Away says:

Akelamalu–A clean house makes me feel so much better!!

  7. Christine says:

you always have the most interesting recipes. And what a good feeling after all that cleaning is done. It’s getting it started that drives me crazy. I had a busy day and just realized I made myself a cup of coffee instead of tea when I tasted it!

  8. Just a Plane Ride Away says:

Christine–I am always up for trying new recipes and therefore appreciate it when fellow bloggers suggest new dishes to try :-) And yikes, the coffee for tea switcheroo must have been a shock!

Glad to see your back to normal. I always hate the after-sickness stage, when you realize that your house has gone to pot and you have A LOT of work to do. Such a relief when it’s finally done. Yay for you!

I really identify! I just cleaned my house, and am getting ready to cook a nice rich spaghetti sauce for Friday night supper. The title of this post tickles me.

Bee–I have a pot of HT’s Borracho Beans simmering away. It smells soooo good! I don’t know why I never tried making beans before. Don’t tell, but in my last pot of chili? I put in some beans! It was good!!

  12. Bee says:

JAPRA, I made those beans and we loved them. I ate leftover beans for lunch at least twice! As for beans in chili, I know it’s not at all the done thing, but I ALWAYS put beans in chili. Too much meat — unless it is a steak — is just too much.
