Company’s coming…

Trudy! I love you, but you sure do shed a lot.
Mr. DJ’s youngest brother and family are coming tomorrow morning. Gotta tidy up around here. It’s a short day for Roxi–early dismissal–and she promised to help. What a good girl!
By the way, the photo above is one I took for an e-course I’m taking. If you’re interested, you can read more about it here, Where I Talk About Art.
I’ve had quite a number of new visitors stop by on JaPRA. Hello, you all! (I wanted to say “y’all”. See? I’m not entirely converted. If I were, I might say “Hiya!”). I love making new friends and hope that you’ll leave me a comment so I can come visit you in your part of the world.
Right. So, I’m taking off for the rest of the week. I’m not sure what my guests have in mind to do this weekend, but I’m planning on getting in some play time with my niece and nephew :-)
Have a lovely weekend, wherever you are!

“Hiya?” Is this a British thing? This is very surprising. I thought they said things like “Toodles!” and “Pip, pip, cheerio!” and “What, ho?”

I think I am stuck in a Wodehousian view of British greetings despite having visited a few years ago. The romantic in me.

It’s lovely that you’re looking forward to company. So many people grumble. Yay, you!

  11. Barrie says:

    Enjoy your company!

    Alyson–Um… too late ;-)

    Cynthia–Thank you, dear!

Chris–The weather is great today, so that always helps :-)

Fantastic Forrest–It’s “Hiya” for hello and “Cheers” for most anything (thank you, goodbye, some other things that I can’t think of right now). I have heard “Ta” for goodbye. Toodles! :-)

  13. Cote de Texas says:

Joni–And you look like you should be walking on the Red Carpet! Gorgeous :-)

Barbara–TTFN is what my daughter used to say. I think she learned it from Winnie The Pooh ;-) I’ve not heard “Watcha Cock”.

  16. Fantastic Forrest says:

I think this “Watcha Cock” is a nefarious scheme to get us Americans to humiliate ourselves. Well, I will not be sucked in!!

I will merely ask “How’s it hangin’?”

    Much classier.

  17. Just a Plane Ride Away says:

    Fantastic Forrest–LOL!
