Danger: do not oogle the newborn lambs whilst driving

I wish I had a photo for you. On my way to the airport yesterday morning, I noticed that the sheep along side the motorway had company. BABIES! And oh, they were adorable–they couldn’t be very old. Maybe a few days? It is hard to sigh over them at 70 MPH, though.
All of the daffodils are distracting too! So pretty and sunny against the soft green grass of England.
Here’s a beautiful shrub in my back garden. Well, the neighbor’s back garden…
Forsythia. It practically GLOWS.
Last night’s middle school talent show was wonderful, by the way! So many talented and very brave kids up on stage. Roxi and her drama club presented some great skits, and Roxi and her friend Y sang “I know him so well” from the musical Chess. Mama DJ was so sweet to come all the way from Texas for this last show at Roxi’s current school. I think she was a little sad about it. We definitely feel our time here in the countryside drawing to an end.
Today we’re a little under the weather. I picked up the girl from school at lunchtime. And I made a pot of chicken vegetable soup with rice. That usually does the trick.

Oh it’s Spring – are the lambs beautifuly. They’re so funny the way they leap about! :)
Sorry you’re under the weather – hopefully not for long. x

It is awful spotting something great as you zoom past. btdt way too often, and wonder how quickly I can pull over. It’s never close enough. :(

1st Trudy, then you two…Hopefully no where near the same issue!

  4. Pigtown-Design says:

We had a place near us in Wales where you could walk with the animals. I LOVED the wee lambies!

  5. Moannie says:

I saw some lambs too, but like you was driving and there was no-where to pull over.

I have forsythia, cherry and pear blosson in my garden though it is still quite cold.

I am sorry you are leaving, i do hope that you will keep blogging.

I love forsythia! Indeed, it does glow. I hope you all are feeling much better–probably you are suffering from exhaustion and bit of the jitters on the moving issue. All will be well! Love, Mimsy

Julia–Yes, it’s really yellow around here lately. Very cheerful and uplifting.

Akelamalu–I am wondering where we can go to properly pay our respects to those sweet lambs. Too cute!!

Maureen–It is better when my husband drives so I can take pics. But for now I am the only one with a UK license. Bummer.

P-D–We walked with the lambs at the Avesbury Circle. I could’t believe it! We’ve also walked among the cows. Not quite as charming. Those things are HUGE.

Moannie–I love Spring in England best of all seasons. Summer is nice, Fall is beautiful, I could do without winter (really just the long, dark days). But Spring makes my heart fill with happiness.

A Cuban in London–It’s creeping over the fence, so I say it’s fair game! ;-)

Golden Prague–Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to blog surfing!

Mimsy–We are all a bit tired, yes. I am sure that our resistance is down because of it. Roxi went to school today, though. I think the soup + a good night’s rest worked wonders. Is there Forsynthia in Texas? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it there. Are the Azelas blooming? The bluebells?

  10. Just a Plane Ride Away says:

er, that would be “bluebonnets” pas de bluebells. I’ve been out Texas too long…

  11. American in Britain says:

We are fortunate enough to live on a large estate that is rented out to a sheep farmer. So we’ve seen the adorable lambs and constantly hear their high-pitched bleating that is so much like a newborn baby’s. Oh, and we have bunches of those daffodils around us as well. Yes, it’s beautiful.

I have not seen forsythia near here; maybe they have it in North Texas. I have seen it in North Carolina on visits up there. It grows in the road medians there–so pretty. And yes, indeed, the azaleas (a rhododendron) are (nearly finished) blooming and the wildflowers are in a mad crush! xoxMimsy
