I went to London today to meet a new friend

I met my lovely blogging friend Emm in London for the first time today. She was so sweet to take time out of her busy work day to have lunch with me at this pub near the Borough Market. Isn’t it nice when blogging friends turn out to be just as charming and delightful in person as they are on their blogs? I swear, I could have settled right in with a nice pot of tea and visited with Emm all afternoon.
So that’s where I was today. In town, meeting a new friend. After lunch, I went to the Tate Modern for an hour just to say hello to some of my favourite pieces and fondle the goods in the gift store. I bought the Tate Artist Timeline. It’s cool.

I really like meeting blog-friends . . . especially so I can tell Sigmund that they ARE real friends.

Was the pub good? I remember seeing it when I went to Borough Market this fall.

I bought an organizing book (de cluttering) today! My favourite subject. Sounds like you had a great day. Those English buildings have so much character.

Hmmm, what did I do today? Got new tires for the car, almost got a ticket (got stopped, admitted guilt, got a warning, cried a little), fed the Boss (3year old).

oh, deleted my blog this weekend – couldn’t handle the pressure.

Bee–So far, so good on the blogging friends meets. You and Audrey were my firsts :-)

Christine–Would you like to come to my house in England and also my two storage units in Texas and help me declutter? Please?? LOL!

Julia–Oh no, you deleted your blog?! So sad… But I know what you mean. It can be very time consuming. However, it keeps me up to date on my record keeping of our time here. I’m good with deadlines and accountability ;-)

Alyson–I am certain if we ever met, we’d hit it off as well. Loved your BD post, by the way!

So glad you had a good day in London with Emm.
Second daughter and I love the Tate Modern and always try to get there once a year. I could stand inside the entrance in awe for a long time.

I love Tate. And you’re right. It’s nice when bloggers you meet for the first time turn out to be as down to earth as they are on their blogs. Many thanks.

    Greetings from London.

  8. Emm says:

Hiya! It was lovely meeting you. The break really did me good as well because I went back tot the office and worked solidly for two whole days! I’m taking a tea break now though.

  9. Just a Plane Ride Away says:

Moannie–I know what you mean. Every time I go, I want to lie down on the floor and just contemplate how huge that place is. It’s wonderful.

A Cuban in London–London is full of amazing museums, but yes, I love the Tate too :-)

Emm–I think it’s important to take breaks every now and then, especially when the sun is out. So rare!

We need to meet, too. Could you pop over to Portland, please? Actually, I am excited because your and Emm’s posts led to my commenting over at her blog and now it turns out she’s going to NYC in June and so am I, so you’re not the only one who gets to meet a bloggy friend in person!! So why don’t you come to NYC too? :-) Or maybe I’ll just have to come to London. We’ll definitely be there within the next few years….of course, you may be back in the states by then!

Fantastic Forrest–I would LOVE to visit you in Portland one day. I’ve not been but I know I would love it there. How exciting that you may meet Emm in June! She is so lovely and smart. I know you’ll have fun.

And if you’re ever in London, we’ll have to do a blogger get-together ;-)
