All that green is refreshing. In Nevada, you have to water like mad to get much green at all.
Hi Stan, yes it is very green here! We love the English countryside.
Now that is a grandaddy of a tree. If only it could talk…
Robin, I have thought the same thing sometimes on our walks! Oh what these lovely trees have seen. :-)
Appears to be very well rooted :) Looks like a nice shady spot to take a rest.
It was very tempting… :-)
Hi,
I just discovered your blog and it’s really interesting! I am reading your archives section and your pictures are all great :)
I am also thinking of moving to the UK in the near future, so I am finding your posts of life in the UK as an expat really helpful :)
Hi Krystle, I’m glad you stopped in to say hello! How exciting that you are thinking of moving here. Do you know in which part of the UK you will move?
Not sure yet, but we are thinking about finding a place either somewhere in the Midlands (we really like the Bidford on Avon/Stratford on Avon area), or else somewhere in the South West close to London. I am still doing research though, and all options are still open :)
I want to take a nap under that tree!
I think you have the right idea, Kat!
Beautiful!!Its a place to sit and read books all noon!
Love ♥

Chaitra, a book and a nice picnic would be lovely indeed!
Just gorgeous! Definitely a place for a good read on a beautiful afternoon.
jane
Jane, you are absolutely right! And we’ve had so many lovely afternoons this Spring. It’s astonishing!
Oh, the English countryside is simply breathtaking! Beautiful photo. =)
Carleen, the countryside is one of the things I will miss most about England. Especially since the weather has been so fine this Spring!
Looks like a good place to read a book. Beautiful!
Essence of Maine, I love all how so many of us are readers. I can imagine us all lying on that soft English grass reading our books with perhaps a nice thermos of tea and a few biscuits at the ready :-)
Nice composition and lighting. I like how you only show part of the tree, but we have a sense of the rest of it. I agree with the comment above.
Thank you, Sarah! Well, as you know, the trees here are so huge that really, unless you stand well away from it, it would be impossible to capture the whole giant. Plus sometimes the trunks are just so attractive ;-)
Gorgeous. Just beautiful. Would you get that in the Netherlands??? ;-(((
Maternal Tales, sadly no. I think the English Countryside is a magical place all of its own. And I will miss it so.
The bottom center of that majestic tree seems to have an old, crinkled up face in it??!!!
Oh my goodness, you are so observant. I believe it does! :-)
the grass here is suddenly green like that too!
Christine, I am glad you are finally getting some green over there. It seems like your winter was especially long.
That tree is going nowhere!
Maddog, I often wonder as I ramble, how long these trees have been standing and what all they have seen.
Is Wordless Wednesday a bit like Speechless Saturday ?
Left you something on my post today; drop by and pick it up.
Jane
I want to read this symbolically. Are you longing to be “rooted” right now?
I’m guessing that you’ve had a busy week. I’ve posted a pic of me in front of the crazy Savill Garden rhododendrons!
Bee, I was going to call it “Rooted soon to be Uprooted” but then I didn’t want people feeling sorry for the tree ;-)
Actually we are okay with moving on. The expat life still is interesting and exciting for us.
You’re about to pull up roots again – for adventure! :)
Akelamalu, that is for sure!! :-)
