Plan B it is then

top-of-the-passage

The glass roof of the Passage, The Hague’s first covered shopping center. It was built in the late 1800s and is still a very beautiful building. I love that tower in the background too.

Well, we had a few last minute offers to take Trudy during our holiday, but they were a little too late as we had already cancelled our trip. Instead, we’re going to enjoy a “staycation” of sorts and do day trips from here. The best thing about this (well, besides not having to leave Trudy, of course): being able to sleep in our own beds! I’m only half-joking.

Today, Roxi and I rode our bikes down to the Centrum to catch the new Harry Potter film. We loved it! I can’t believe how big the HP kids are now. I mean, I know those actors are now in their late teens, early twenties, but it was a little bit of a shock to see them all grown up. It’s probably the mom in me.

Here’s a funny ad that was shown before the HP film (new link). Maybe rated PG? It’s not for very young eyes, anyway. It’s for a Dutch DSL provider. Enjoy ;-)

Oh, was the Harry Potter film with English sub titles then? or do you get a choice of movies in English? Funny commercial.

    Enjoy your day trips!

Christine, the film was in English with Dutch subtitles. I kept wanting to read them for vocab practice, so they were a little distracting :-)

Here’s another funny one (I’m always behind the times on funny youtube commercials so maybe you’ve already seen it)

  3. Sorry you had to move to Plan B but hope it works out well. At least you’re in a whole new place so there’s probably lots to explore. Loved the commercial!

Tricia, we’ve actually seen quite a bit around this area on previous visits, but there are definitely some day trips that we are looking forward to. And some biking to be done! ;-)

Oh no! The ad has been removed by YouTube!

I absolutely love you photo. Such stunning glass work!

Enjoy your day trips – I look forward to learning more about Holland along with you!

Hi Emm, okay, I found another version… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFm1mg7oQws

Watch it quickly before it gets taken down! ;-)

        Oh wow. That’s hilarious!

Reminds me of the day Ste met my mum. He was this wonderfully unaffected and confident guy and had changed into a pair of Daffy Duck sleeping shorts when it was clear that we actually were going to stay up all night talking (before all that… other stuff started, you know). And he went to the kitchen to get some water at about 3am and that was how he met my mum!

I’m going Saturday to see Harry Potter. We’re making an evening of it! I’m so glad you liked it! I can’t wait.

We saw Harry Potter on Saturday, and I had exactly the same thought! They had copies of the very first film in the lobby and they looked like such babies.
