Emm, what I didn’t say was it took me a week to figure out what was wrong with my stove. No manual and no internet hook up. Finally Mr. DJ used his mobile phone as a modem and found out our stove was induction. I STILL don’t have a stock pot. Must go shopping soon.

That is so strange! Well, I just wonder what would happen if I arrived at such a place and tried to cook!! I have little enough cooking skills as it is! (Although, I am making more and more dishes these days where even I have to congratulate myself!)

Emm, the induction stove does something with magnets and sadly stainless steel is not one of those magnetic materials. Boo! I prefer cooking on gas, though I must admit I do like being able to simmer something on low and now have it burn. An ideal mix for me would be gas with one induction burner.

We got those pots as wedding presents! It was a little sad to put them in storage…

Maureen, I would love to see that house. I think ours was built in the 1920s, but the kitchen and conservatory were add ons. As well as the master en-suite. I really do wonder why the side entrance, though…

I am working on my Dutch. Well, mostly I am working on my Dutch suntan, but when the weather turns bad, I will resume my Rosetta stone lessons. Mostly I am learning food words… for grocery shopping and cooking!

Do you go to France soon?
