That really is delightful. It’s been a long time since I saw a store window full of real toys and stuff rather than electronic gizmos and the latest trendoid junk.
Stan, this is a toy store near where I took my Dutch lessons in kind of an arty side of town. This store had two window displays on either side of its door. On one side were antique-y toys (as in the photo) and on the other, newer toys that still had lots of charm. I never got to go inside–which was probably a good thing because I saw quite a few things I’d love to take home!
A Jack in the box – I remember when that didn’t mean burgers! Happy WW
LOL! Isn’t that the truth. I loved those little houses in front.
OH! I use to have the telephone in front on wheels…wow that takes me back!
Kathy, this store was such a charming find! I am sure you have similar ones in Germany, right? BTW, they wanted 25 Euro for that phone! You wouldn’t happen to still have your old one? ;-)
Sweet. I love toy stores that still sell actual toys – well-made, non-plastic, non-beepingbleepingzapping toys.
Robin, yes it was nice to see those toys :-)
Toys,toys,toys..Love the store front. Happy WW
Auntie E, it was really a cute looking store. I hope to go back and actually go in next time!
For sale or just a display? Its taking me back for sure!! Good times, good times…
Carla, it was all for sale with lots more inside. I must go back and investigate further ;-)
how charming!
I was charmed :-)
I always loved the spinning tops!!
Happy WW!
Dragonfly Lady, I always wanted one of those metal spinning tops with the handle you could pump up and down. I love old-fashioned toys :-)
I recently went through a brief phase where I decided that I had to have my old Fisher Price toys…the school house, the house, the bus…then I saw what they were selling for on ebay and changed my mind…I wouldn’t play with them that much anyway :)
I know! Amazing, huh? My parents still have many of my toys at their house. One day I’ll go through them all. They might make nice decorations ;-)
I’m almost positive that we’ve been in that shop! If it is,I got Camille a red mushroom light and a red smiley-face bag in it.
Bee, I was first drawn to this store because of the little gnomes and mushrooms in the other window. Something must be wrong because I REALLY wanted a gnome! He had on a red hat with white polka dots. SO not me, but somehow I was enchanted.
