Hi there! For today’s Ask an Expat, I’m going to send you over to Argentina to visit with Tom Frost, who interviewed me for his blog Expat Alley: True Confessions of Expat Freelancers and Entrepreneurs. Be sure to check out the other interviews, as well as Tom’s excellent and informative articles.
By the way, Tom’s wife is Maya Frost, author of The New Global Student: Skip the SAT, Save Thousands on Tuition and Get a Truly International Education. Her blog is: New Globals: Bright Ideas & Bold Moves in International Lifestyle Design.
Thank you, Tom, for the fun interview! And congratulations on your blog. I love reading about others’ expat experiences :-)

I am a little late, but better late than never! Thank you, dear Emm, for my lovely Liverpool postcard!
~

Dankjewel, Janine!
And thank you to my Flikr friend Janine who sent me Sneezy because she knew my silly Albert Heijn Snow White figurine collection was incomplete without him.
Hail, hail, the gang’s all here. These cute little Snow White Dwarfs figurines were October give-aways from the grocery store Albert Heijn. They’re only a couple of inches tall :-) I don’t usually collect these things, and I’m not really into Snow White, but I thought these little guys were adorable. They make nice desk companions, too.

So that’s it for this week. It’s hard to believe, but Christmas is 15 days away! I suspect that next week’s Ask an Expat column will be the last until the second week of January. So if there’s anything you’re dying to know (LOL!), be sure to leave your question in the comments, and I’ll post the answers next week.

great interview…except for the part about asking your age..geeze..only a boy would ask that!
so where are pictures of your metalworking?! what do you make…do you make bangles/cuffs?
by the way, I completely get it about the 7 dwarves…last year McDonalds had, as their happy meal toy, Madame Alexander Wizard of Oz dolls. A friend went to a couple of McDs to find all of them. I stopped at spending $20 so I don’t have the complete set. They’re now thrown in my daughter’s stuff but at least I know they’re there!
Julia, I don’t have photos of most of my stuff… but here’s a cuff bracelet I made a few years back. http://whereitalkaboutart.blogspot.com/2008/10/siver-cuff-bracelet.html
I don’t have a torch or any of my big tools over here. I’ve only recently just made a couple of cold-connection rings. Hoping to do more metalwork in the near future.
Okay, I love the cuff – you are good!
I have some cuffs from an artist called Regina Becker. Her website:

Are there shops where you live that you can get the materials to make things…are you even allowed to bring your tools over on the plane?
Really beautiful bracelet
Hi Japra,
just spent a lovely time touring the magical markets and the fabulous cathedrals What amazing photography. Thank you very much. Also enjoyed the food but couldn’t decide between the schnitzel or the roastbratworst !
What a fun interview! I too would love to see photos of some of your jewelry, since I love all things silver and have an addiction to earrings.
You know, as much as I would miss having my family close by, I think it would be hard to resist living abroad for a while. What a great opportunity for you all!
off to read your interview. Cute little dwarves.
Aaaah, it’s only a pleasure!!
