Hitching a ride on Santa’s sleigh

We’re on our way back to the Lone Star State to spend the holidays with our extended family. Next time you hear from me, I’ll be Stateside! Honest, listen I’ll prove it ;-)

Before I leave, I wanted to show you what happened to the Sinterklaas decorations in the Passage shopping center.

Santa and the Mrs

Santa’s arrived. I see the Mrs. has an updated wardrobe. And is Santa wearing cropped trousers? Hmm.

Christmas in the PassageI really loved the tree.

Have a great trip and a wonderful Xmas.

    • japra says:

Thanks, Christine! I thought I was going to be sad about leaving all that snow in Den Haag, but it’s nice to be somewhere where I don’t have to wear 10,000 layers and my EMU boots :-)

  4. Chris says:

HA!! oh, thanks for the update.

    Be safe! Happy Happy.

  5. Carmen says:

Have a nice holliday and stay healthy. Merry Christmas! :-)

  6. Bee says:

Maybe those trousers are cropped so he can tuck them into his boots? Otherwise, I’m a bit disturbed by this.

SAFE JOURNEY to Texas. I hope the snow doesn’t ground you. We had King Ranch casserole and beans and guac and chips for dinner last night. Please visit the Taqueria for me.

    Merry Christmas!

    • japra says:

We will definitely be hitting the Taqueria at least once during our stay here. Margaritas, chips and salsa and chicken fajita tacos! Wish you were here too, Bee. XO

geeze-when did Mrs. Claus start wearing such short skirts?

    love the YouTube clip!

Hope you have a great trip – if you drive by Chuy’s on Westheimer please have a moment of silence for me.

    • japra says:

Yes, Ma’am. One Chuy’s moment of silence coming right up! I love their Chuychangas with that green sauce. Sigh. I think I’m going to have to have Tex-Mex for lunch today.

And yeah, Santa and Mrs. cracked me up! I guess they must be working out ;-)

BTW, I heard Pee Wee is back on STAGE in NYC! Wish I could go. I bet he’s interesting live…

  8. Have a GREAT holiday back home!! Cropped pants and a short skirt on Santa??? What do they think they are—Scots???

    • japra says:

Heheh! Well, I guess they’re not quite into “Santa” as we are in the States. After all, they have their own Sinterklaas. Maybe they’re just humouring us poor expat Americans?

  9. Aledys Ver says:

haha I’ve got to see that film!

Looking at the photos of De Passage has made me realise I miss visiting Den Haag! I sometimes spend an hour or more browsing books at Selexyz and then have a cappuccino or lunch at De Luca’s :o)
    Have fun in Texas!!!

    • japra says:

Hoi, Aledys! So sorry, I missed this comment over the holidays… Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure is a classic ;-) I understand Paul Rubens has (had?) a NYC stage production based on his TV program. I would have loved to have seen that!

I ADORE Selexyz and Bagel and Beans. If you’re ever in Den Haag, please let me know–I’d love to meet you :-)
