Walking in a winter… well, you know

Mr. DJ invited us to go for a short stroll last night when it started snowing again. Roxi and I were feeling pretty warm and lazy and first answered “No, thanks”. But then I realized, “What are we saying?! Of course, YES!” I’m so glad we went. I am sure our neighbours though we were crazy to be frolicking out there in the cold and taking photos. Crazy Texans. ;-)

We woke up to a couple more inches today, and I just had to get out in it again–dressed in four layers this time. It’s so exciting! I’m such a dork.

Roxi has her last exam today and then a three week Winter Break for her. Hurray! What a way to start it too. Blue skies and snow.

It’s so beautiful. Lots of rain here. Last day of exams too for the kids…I don’t know about them but I’m worn out!
Julia, those last few weeks before Christmas break are always so busy! I hope you’ll enjoy some nice family time over the holidays… and maybe your kids will let you sleep late one day ;-)
Great photos…we had more snow but still not anything to write home about. Last day of school here too…can’t wait! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New year!
Kathy, aren’t you glad you got to see some snow before you left Germany? I would feel really bad if I had missed out on this. Hope you post from Utah!
Love these photos, especially the ones showing snow on the trees, something I always look forward to seeing… and we’re expecting snow tomorrow.
Jane
Jane, I hope you got your snow! It always seems like such a gift… er, as long as I don’t have to do any shovelling ;)
Bikes in the snow! *Only* in the Netherlands?!
I saw some footage of snow in England and there were some brave cyclists there too ;-)
I second Kathy Amen! We’re expecting a big winter storm next week, so hopefully we;ll have a white Christmas this year!
Oh, I’m so excited for you! I doubt we’ll be having snow in my part of Texas… But maybe I can wear shorts and sandals–LOL!
The first snow is always so pretty and fun. But when we lived in Tahoe I decided it was like a guest who arrives with a party aura but then who stays. And stays. And STAYS. Finally you start having either murderous thoughts or visions of escape. After four winters I finally escaped! But I still remember the joy of first snows.
Hope you enjoy your holiday.
Tee hee! I am sure you are right, Tricia. Last year when we were in England, it was so cold and rainy, all I could think about was going somewhere, anywhere where there was sun and a little bit of warmth.
Hope you and your family enjoy a lovely holiday season as well :-)
very pretty pictures, glad you’re out enjoying the snow. A blogger recently mentioned that all snowflakes have 6 points, so I have to go look at one closely the next time. The kids here get 2 weeks off, lucky Roxi.
Christine, I tried to look at the snowflakes yesterday but I needed my glasses to make out the points. I was too lazy to try to find them ;-)
This is the first time we get three weeks off at winter break. At Roxi’s last school, we had two weeks at Christmas and two weeks during Spring break, which was nice too.
Texans LOVE SNOW!!
Add some snow and the season is transformed.
It’s so true, Bee! It’s always a joyful occasion… as long as we don’t have to drive anywhere. Haha!
A winter fairytale!
I live in Augsburg/ ca.70 km from Munich; here is no snow :-( I don’t know why, because all around it has snowed…and i love this season so much! Christmas without snow will be sad!
a lovely weekend, bye :-)
Carmen, I am guessing you got a little snow by now! I hope you’re enjoying it :-)
