Everyday Den Haag

I took our car in for servicing this week. Though I could have ridden the bus home, I decided that the morning was too pretty to waste. I walked instead. Here’s a mini-tour of everyday Den Haag :-)
Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

Lovely, is the perfect word….Ahhhh!
Aili, my daughter and I were taking a walk the other day and noticed the tree branches have itty bitty buds on them. Oh, the anticipation….
Oh the trees – how gorgeous. Will be be in Den Haag over the summer? Or will you be moving back to London?
Lucylucia, it is unlikely that we will be here past the end of June. And yes, we will be back in the UK. Or at least that is how it is looking now.
So MANY wonderful trees! What a great-looking city!
It’s really true! When I looked over this post, I wondered if maybe it was too tree heavy, but no, we really do have a lot of trees here.
You see so much more when you walk don’t you? :)
It’s really true, Akelamalu. Biking is a nice way to see things as well, but it’s harder to stop every two seconds to take a photo ;-)
It looks like Den Haag is waking up.
I think it is. When the daffodils bloom, I’ll know that we are well on our way to spring :-)
So nice…
Will you be there in October? We are going to try to get the train from Paris during our trip.
No, SAD!!! We will most likely be in the UK by then… You wouldn’t happen to be thinking about a trip into Blighty, would you?
Oh, this brings back so many memories! Seeing the bricks – I remember that the brick streets in the small village I lived in the Netherlands had to be “turned” every few years – this was an actual job! Turning the bricks so they wear evenly…can’t conceive that people here in the States would consider working at this type of job! Thanks for the glimpse into a typical day.
Carol, I’ve learned something new from you! I am always amazed at how well maintained the bricked roads are here. Now I know why! Turning those bricks must be a looooong process because they’ve been working on this stretch of road for ages. And I agree, I can’t imagine this happening in the States except for in a historical place like Colonial Williamsburg. Thanks for sharing this wonderful tidbit with us!!
Thank you so much for walking so that we could experience a walking tour of Den Haag! You rock.
