I’m going to miss the bicycles…

I really will.

I saw this short video yesterday and thought you might enjoy it too. It’s Rick Steves’ “Travel Skills” Biking away the jet lag”. And of course, there are some nice shots of the Netherlands :-)

Roxi has her last two exams today, Wednesday off,  a half-day on Thursday and then she is done with 9th grade. Didn’t it just start? This year went by fast–so many wonderful experiences for Roxi and for us too.

Tonight is Roxi’s last voice concert (for the private voice students), so I’m making brownies for the reception. It’s weird to have to do normal things like cook or do laundry while preparing to move house. Those chores seem even more mundane when compared to the excitement of relocating. I told Mr. DJ that moving is a lot like having a baby. You know there are going to be some awful parts, but there’s nothing you can do except to keep going!

Today I’m going to clean out the fridge, cupboards, and freezers since tomorrow is our second to last trash day before we move. There really isn’t that much to throw out. I’ve been making a conscious effort not to buy too much at the grocery these last two weeks. However, most of the open jars of stuff will have to go since we won’t be moving into our new house until 1 July.

I wonder if, like my pregnancies, on the day of moving you’ll say “Um, no, today’s not a good day for me..let’s do this tomorrow.

Thanks for all of the bike pictures. I really enjoyed seeing them!
